What is Candidate Ranking?
Candidate ranking is the ordering of applicants by perceived fit, often using automated scores, recruiter judgement, or a blend of both.
Ranking turns an unsorted inbox into a shortlist. Systems may sort by keyword match, years of experience, application date, or referral status. Recruiters then adjust order manually based on notes, diversity goals, or insider knowledge.
Being ranked highly is not the same as being hired. It means your application is visible when the team reviews the top of the list. Lower-ranked candidates may never be opened unless the first wave fails to produce interviews.
You cannot control total applicant count, but you can improve relative position through tailoring, timing early applications, and ensuring parse quality so your record is complete in the database.
Cvaluate estimates how competitive your CV looks against a specific posting. Use it to decide whether to invest effort in a particular application or redirect time to better-aligned roles.
